The No. 3 seeded Gordon College Men's Tennis team traveled out to Bristol, Rhode Island to take on the No. 2 ranked Roger Williams Hawks in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals where the Hawks defeated the Fighting Scots, 5-1.
Roger Williams picked up the first win of the day in No. 3 doubles before the Scots got the equalizer in No. 2 doubles thanks to a 7-4 win from
Jeffrey Bodner and
Carleton Riester. Both No. 1 duos battled for each and every point, but the Hawks were able to edge the Scots, 8-7 to hold a 2-1 advantage heading into singles.
Needing only three more points to take the win, Roger Williams secured wins in No. 5, No. 6, and No. 2 singles to come away with the 5-1 win.Â
The Scots finish out the season with a 12-8 record overall and 6-2 in conference. Additionally, the blue and white graduate
John Marineau in May.
