CCC Undefeated Gulls Protect The Nest

Gordon College Women's Lacrosse ventured to Beverly, Massachusetts this afternoon to square up against the Conference undefeated Endicott College Gulls for their final regular season contest where the Fighting Scots were ultimately defeated by their hosts, 17-6.

Kaitlyn Mini led the Scots with a trio of goals while the rest of the tallies were spread out among three other Scots.

The Gulls were guided by Carly Pierce who booked five goals as well as dishing out an assist, meanwhile, Alex Palermo who added a hat trick in the win.

How It Happened
  • The Scots started off strong as Mini fond the first face off of the game to give the Fighting Scots the initial offensive advantage. Gordon held strong on defense in the opening minutes of the match-up as it wasn't until the 12:40 mark when the Gulls got on the board, 1-0. From then on, Endicott went on a six-goal run to head into the second quarter with a 7-0 lead.
  • The Gulls continued their rally into the second frame, scoring two goals in a row in less than five minutes to bring the score to 9-0, however, just 30 ticks later Gordon's Mini took advantage of a free position shot to chip away at her squad's deficit (1-9). Just over three minutes later, it was deja vu as Mini found the back of the net once again off of a free position shot to make it 2-9. With 7:06 remaining, the Scots' held the Gulls scoreless until Endicott was able to sneak two goals in with 13 and five seconds left on the clock (11-2).
  • After the break, the Gulls continued to shoot hot, outscoring the Scots 4-1 to enter the final frame, 15-3.
  • Hailey Beling opened up the last 15 with a goal at the 12:39 mark thanks to a feed from Becca Rhoda before Caroline Piorkowski brought Gordon's tally to five after scoring off of a free position shot (5-15). However, the Gulls continued to fire, netting a pair of goals before Mini sealed her hat trick with the final goal of the game with 59 ticks left on the clock to bring the final score to 6-17.
