On a windy afternoon on J. Tec White Field, Gordon College Baseball hosted the Bridgewater State University Bears in non-conference action. The Bears used 11 hits to score six runs to defeat the Fighting Scots, 6-3.

How It Happened

• After a scoreless first inning for both sides, the Bears used a suicide squeeze to bring a run home and lead 1-0.
• An inning later, the Scots were patient at the plate and with the bases loaded, Ben Chase walked in the tying run (1-1).
• The Bears tacked on another run in the top of the third before adding two in the fourth to widen the gap to 4-1.
• Continuing to fight back, the Scots cut the Bears' lead in half in the home half of the fourth thanks to a hit through the right side off of the bat of Chase to allow David Melendez to score. 
• Scots' relievers Gianni Mercurio and Shane Demers held the Bears to one hit until the top of the ninth where the visitors added a few insurance runs to come away with the 6-3 victory.

• Jonathan McIntyre has reached base safely in 10 straight games. 
• The Fighting Scots head over to Bridgewater tomorrow for another nine-inning battle with first pitch slated for 3 p.m.
