The Gordon College Fighting Scots Field Hockey team opened their season by hosting the No. 12 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex. The Engineers came away with the 11-0 victory. 

How It Happened

• The Engineers came out on the attack, scoring within the first three minutes and never looked back, taking a 7-0 going into half.
• Coming out of the break, the Fighting Scots held strong, cutting MIT's penalty corners from 19 to 8 in the second half. Gordon held the nationally ranked Engineers to only four more goals for the remainder of the game.

• Senior goalkeeper, Sophea Zaskoda totaled 14 saves in the first half alone. 
• The Fighting Scots will be on the road as they travel to Plymouth State in New Hampshire on Wednesday, September 6, to take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m.
