Gordon College Women's Basketball took to the road today as they traveled to West Hartford, Connecticut to battle the Hartford Hawks. The Hawks pulled away in the third quarter to claim the 70-54 win over the Fighting Scots.

For Gordon, Ami Rivera scored 12 points, Isabella Rivera added nine points, while Sophie Peters chipped in eight points while grabbing four rebounds. 

Hartford's Ella Marchesani netted 21 points and Taryn Blevins added 17 points. 

How It Happened

• A. Rivera scored the first seven points for the blue and white in the first quarter as the Fighting Scots trailed 7-12 with just under three minutes remaining in the first. Cheyann Tooman hit a layup at the buzzer to keep the Hawks within single digits heading into the second. (11-18).
• Rookie Peters and A. Rivera teamed up to score seven points early for their squad in the second, making it a two-point game (18-20). Hartford was able to widen the gap at the half to lead 26-34.
• Hartford found success from behind the arc in the third to hold a 35-58 advantage going into the final frame.
• The Scots settled down in the fourth, outscoring the home team 19-12 but the Hawks went on to secure the eventual win.

Beyond The Box Score

• Rookie Sophie Peters was flawless from behind the arc for the first time in her young career, while going nearly perfect (3-4) from the field.
• Gordon goes on the road once again this Tuesday, January 23 as they take on the Suffolk University Rams in Boston.
