Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Scots Roll Through Colonels In CNE Shutout

Making a statement in their Tuesday night outing, Gordon College Women's Soccer squared off against the Curry College Colonels in Conference of New England (CNE) play. After scoring once in the first half, Gordon erupted for three in the second en route to the 4-0 victory.

How It Happened
  • In the 29th minute, Eowyn Lapp fought her way down the left side before booting in a shot to the opposite side netting, past a diving Curry keeper to lead, 1-0.
  • After perfectly defending a pair of corner kicks to start off the second half, the Fighting Scots made some noise as Lapp found a wide open Ava Forbes-Smith who hooked in a shot from 20 yards out into the back of the net to widen the gap to 2-0.
  • Forbes-Smith once again got the better of the Colonel keeper after tucking the ball into a tight open space in the 65th minute (3-0).
  • Continuing to press offensively, the blue and white's Ada Forbes got in on the scoring parade just two minutes later as the junior netted her fifth goal of the season.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Ada Forbes recorded her third game this season where she scored a goal and chipped in an assist.
  • Ava Forbes-Smith netted her first two-goal game of the year and second of her career.
  • In every CNE game this season, Eowyn Lapp has booked a goal. Lapp now has 12 on the season.
  • Gordon returns to action on Saturday, October 19 as they travel into Boston to play the Leopards of Wentworth at 3:30 p.m.
