Gordon College Women's Soccer hosted the Roger Williams Hawks on The Quad today to celebrate Homecoming. After 90 minutes of grueling play, the Conference of New England (CNE) contest resulted in a 1-1 tie. 

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots and Hawks both came out offensively minded with Gordon holding the slight upper hand in shots with 10 compared to the Hawks' seven. Neither side was able to put one in, bringing the halftime score to 0-0.
• Just over six minutes into the second half, the visitors chipped a shot past the Gordon keeper to lead, 1-0.
• Gordon answered back 11 minutes later as sophomore Eowyn Lapp ripped a shot from a Kristi DiRico pass into the netting to even out the tally at 1-1.
• Looking to net the go ahead goal, Gordon continually tested the Hawks' back line, firing off seven shots down the stretch. Gordon nearly scored with a backwards poke from Lapp, but the Hawks' keeper was at the right place at the right time to keep Gordon off the board.

Beyond The Box Score

• Kristi DiRico now has six assists on the season.
• Eowyn Lapp eclipsed the 10 goal threshold with her tally this afternoon.
• The Scots are on the road for their next contest as they venture to Providence, R.I. to take on the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College on Wednesday, October 9.
