How It Happened
- The Tornadoes raced out to a hot start before a Rivera layup cut the deficit in half (20-10). Jayme Kiser trimmed Geneva's lead to single digits to close out the first quarter (25-18).
- Peters made it a five-point game two minutes into the second (27-22), but Geneva continued to press on to hold the 53-39 advantage at the break.
- In the third, Rivera knocked in five-straight points thanks to aggressive defense and offense to trail by just 12 with 1:58 remaining in the frame. A pair of clutch freebies from Peters put the Scots within 11 before Geneva was able to hold a 12-point edge heading into the fourth.
- Rivera and Peters hit back-to-back jumpers to kick off the fourth (76-68). Naomi Nicholson, Leah McGarvey, and Ciccarello each hit jumpers within a 40 second span to make it just a two-point game early in the fourth. Nicholson and Ciccarello drained shots from downtown to give the Scots their first lead of the afternoon (82-80). McGarvey lifted Gordon within two with 40 seconds left in regulation, but Geneva was able to escape the gritty Scots.
