Gordon College Women's Basketball tipped off against Elms College Saturday at 1 p.m. The Fighting Scots put on a defensive clinic in their 69-39 win over the Blazers.

Ami Rivera shot 66% from the field scoring 19 points for the Scots. Woynitu Ciccarello hit 14 points while securing six rebounds and four steals. Naomi Nicholson recorded 10 points while grabbing eight rebounds.

The Blazers' Mary Turco record a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, Rahmia Johnston scored 9 points, and Kelly Lebel put up five points.
How It Happened

• Sophie Peters jump started the Fighting Scots offense with their first four points as they climbed out of an early 10 point hole. Ami Rivera splashed home a tripple to give the Scots the lead at the end of the first (14-13). 
• Leah McGarvey hit a quick jumper to start the second keeping the momentum on the Scots' side. The Scots did not let up once they started rolling. The blue and white closed out the half on a 13-3 run (31-21)
• Rivera went off in the third as she netted 11 points without missing a single shot. The Scots' lockdown defense allowed only six points while stealing the bal eight times from the Blazers. The Scots finished the quarter up 58-29.
• Great Scots' defense continued to smother the Blazers in the fourth. Elms only managed 10 points. Naomi Nicholson put the game to bed with a bang as she drained a shot from beyond the arc. The game concluded in a 69-39 win for the Scots.
