Scots Contain Panthers And Falcons At Home

Gordon College Women's Swimming welcomed the Plymouth State Panthers and the Albertus Magnus Falcons to the Bennett Center for their third home meet of the young season. The Fighting Scots defeated the Panthers, 168-82 as well as the Falcons, 196-45.

  • Emma Bruhl, Emma Lippiatt, Lydia Shustack, and Isabella Gadouas rolled out to a first place finish immediately as the quad booked a time of 2:04.34 in the 200 yard medley relay.
  • Katherine Maloney secured the top spot in the challenging 1000 yard freestyle, coming in over a minute ahead of the second place finisher.
  • Shustack claimed first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:11.78).
  • M.Kay Farkas and Bruhl made it a two-three punch in the 100 yard backstroke with times of 1:13.39 and 1:13.44, respectively.
  • Lippiatt blew past the competition in the 200 yard breaststroke as the rookie's time of 2:45.27 was just shy of 20 seconds ahead of the second place swimmer.
  • Shustack came out on top once again individually in the 100 yard butterfly (1:09.32).
  • Cleaning up first, second, and third were the Fighting Scots in the 50 yard freestyle as Lippiatt, Gadouas, and Bruhl finished back-to-back-to-back (27.34, 28.01, and 28.56).
  • For the third time on the day, Shustack continued to dominate as the freshman took first place with a time of 1:00.41 in the 100 yard freestyle. Teammate Farkas came in just behind in second (1:04.40).
  • Gadouas and Haxhinasto secured second and third in the 50 yard backstroke with times of 35.98 and 36.58, respectively.
  • Veteran, Maloney continued to excel in the long distance events to register another crown, this time in the 500 yard freestyle (5:54.07).
  • Lippiatt grabbed another first place finish with a time of 34.32 in the 50 yard breaststroke.
  • Gina Ouellette booked second in the 50 yard butterfly (31.63).
  • For the third time, Maloney earned first place in the 200 yard IM (2:27.19).
  • Wrapping up the highly successful afternoon was Maloney, Gadouas, Farkas, and Ella Schissler who came in first in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:53.61).
Next up for the Fighting Scots is a meet a week from today on Saturday, November 16 to take on the Husson University Eagles at 1 p.m.
