Gordon College Men's Basketball tipped off against the Nichols College Bison at the Bennett Center Wednesday night. Regulation was not enough to decide the winner. The Fighting Scots went to overtime and prevailed to take a 85-81 win over the Bison.

For the Fighting Scots, Bryce Smith knocked down 18 points while grabbing nine boards, Alex Daniel hit 15 points, while Ryan Brooks scored 12 and grabbed eight rebounds.

Bison's Javeon Flowers-Smith scored 26, Simon Percy scored 18, and Darrell Hardge scored eight.

How It Happened

• The first half featured five lead changes between the Fighting Scots and the Bison. Bryce Smith went to work on the glass grabbing seven rebounds while leading the Scots in scoring with eight points. Brandon Swann could not miss as he went 3 for 3 scoring seven points. The half ended with a 40-36 lead for the Scots.
• Alex Daniel caught fire in the second half scoring 11 points helping the Scots secure a nine point lead with eight minutes left. The Bison battled back to tie the game sending it to overtime (76-76). 
• In overtime, the Scots took a quick lead off a Daniel's three pointer and did not let go. Smith put the game on ice knocking down two clutch foul shots for a four point lead. The Scots took a triumphant 85-81 win over the Bison.

• The Fighting Scots are now 1-0 in Conference play.
• Alex Daniel hit a career high 15 points.
• The Fighting Scots travel to Endicott Saturday, December 7 to face the Gulls.
