Gordon College Men's Indoor Track & Field ventured into Boston today to compete at the Early Bird Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance as well as BU Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener. 

By The Numbers (Early Bird Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance)

• Kicking off the morning on the right foot was Daniel Chewning who broke the 60m dash record for the Fighting Scots (7.15). Chewning's remarkable time earned him a 16th place finish out of nearly 90 runners.
• Once again making a splash was Chewning, but this time in the 200m dash. The junior came in third place (76 runners) and broke another school record with his time of 22.08. Chewning held the previous school record (22.87), a record which he sat last February. Teammate Henry Lonstein finished in the top-25 thanks to a 200m dash time of 23.10.
• Keenan Jones hit three huge PR's in the 60m (7.39), 200m (23.68), and long jump (5.73m).
• The 4x400m relay team of Lonstein, Chewning, Peter McGinn, and Nate Tucker orchestrated a second place finish (3:38.26), coming in behind DI competition from Merrimack.
• For the third time today, Chewning rewrote the record books as the dynamic junior's long jump measurement of 6.43m claimed 11th place overall and third in DIII. Chewning's previous PR and school record was set last January (6.36m). Will Hughes came in 17th overall and seventh in DIII after a jump of 6.24m.

By The Numbers (BU Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener)

• In his first college meet, Andrew Vickerman lead the Scots in the shot put with a throw of 9.46m. Next for the Scots was Noah Prince throwing 8.90m.
• In the weight throw, Vickerman threw 9.94m while Davi Butkowsky followed close behind with 9.25m.

The Fighting Scots compete next on Saturday, January 24 at The TRACK at New Balance for the Collegiate Showdown.
