WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's track & field team landed three student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced the organization recently.
Peter McGinn collected his second-straight Academic All-District nod while
William Hughes and
Paul Lynn both earned the distinction for the first time in their careers.
In order to be recognized with this honor, a student-athlete must obtain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale), must have at least sophomore academic standing, while being ranked in the top-50 in cross country at a regional competition, or top-50 regionally in a single event for track & field.
Hughes owned a pair of top-25 marks in New England during the outdoor season, ranking 12th in the high jump and 25th in the triple jump. He also ranked in the top-50 after the indoor slate in the high jump.
Lynn ranked 45th regionally in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event.
McGinn ranked 34th in New England in the 400-meter hurdles this spring. He was also selected as the Conference of New England Men's Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
