How It Happened
- After a hot start by the Gulls, the Fighting Scots trimmed the home team's lead to three points midway through the first. The Gulls, however, were able to widen the gap to 15 with 3:04 to go in the half. Back-to-back three's by Tebbs and Micah Steely cut the deficit to 12 points, and the Scots continued to chip away has they went into half down by six points (42-36).Â
- To build on where they left off, Smith connected from downtown in the opening seconds to cut the lead to three. Meanwhile, Endicott continued to get open looks around the rim to rebuild the lead again. Quanico scored the next five points for the Scots, but the Gulls made another run. However, the Fighting Scots were not done as the blue and white scored 13 straight points narrowing the lead to three (70-67) again, before making the Gulls take a timeout with 7:39 left in the game. Down the stretch the Gulls were able to use the hometown crowd to build momentum and hold on to the lead, taking the victory 92-82.Â
