In their second game in as many days, Gordon College Baseball traveled out to Northborough to take on the AmCats of Anna Maria College (AMC), where the Fighting Scots were victorious, 8-6, as they scored in seven out of the nine innings. 

How It Happened

• The first three Fighting Scots up to bat were each hit by a pitch to load up the bases. Joey Kazlauskas put a run up on the board after a sacrifice fly out to center field. 
• Starting pitcher, Tyler Sprince, sat the home team down in order in the bottom of the first, before before another sacrifice fly scored another run for the blue and white to make it 2-0 heading into the bottom of the second. The AmCats plated their first run of the ball game in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-1. 
• Andrew Hartman led off the top of the third with a solo shot to regain the two-run lead. 
• In each teams' next chance at the plate, a total of four runs were split between the two squads bringing the score to 5-3 after four innings of play. 
• Continuing to score a run in each plate appearance, Gordon tacked on one more in the top of the fifth, before AMC brought three runners home in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game up 6-6. 
• With three ducks on the pond, Jonathan McIntyre knocked in a run to put Gordon back out front 7-6. 
• Michael Pelletier, Brett Moore, and Riley Stys held AMC scoreless in the final three innings to earn the victory. 

Beyond The Box Score

• Andrew Hartman tallied his first home run of the season. 
• Tyler Sprince recorded his first win of the season, while Riley Stys notched his first save. 
• Freshman, Colby Galipeau, has recorded a hit in back-to-back games. 
• The Fighting Scots are back in action on Saturday, March 16 as they travel to Bridgewater for a double-header against the Bridgewater State University Bears.
