The Gordon College Softball team continued their spring break action, taking on the Thunder of Wheaton College (Ill.) and the Sharks of Simmons University in Kissimmee, Florida at Fortune Road Athletic Complex. Gordon kept it tight but fell to the Thunder, 4-2 and the Sharks, 2-0.

Gordon vs. Wheaton (Ill.)

• After a scoreless first inning for both squads, the Thunder were able to put up three runs on the board to strike first.
• In the home half of the inning, the Fighting Scots, however, got two of those runs back thanks to a single and double from Emily Peterson and Ami Rivera, respectively (3-2).
• The Thunder crossed the plate one more time in the fifth to eventually go on to take the 4-2 win.

Gordon vs. Simmons 

• It was scoreless through three and a half innings, before Simmons grounded out to short stop to score the first run of the game.
• An inning later, the Sharks tacked on one more run to go on top, 2-0. Jayden Johnson and Emily Graham strung together a pair of hits in the seventh, but Gordon was unable to cross the plate as Simmons came away with the win.
• Through 6.0 innings of work, pitcher Morgan Passolo scattered six hits, allowing two runs (one earned), while striking out four.

• The Fighting Scots are back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5, as they play against Westminster and Otterbein starting at 1:45 pm at Legends Way.
