Gordon College Men's Tennis returned to the court today as they took on the Blue Streaks of John Carroll University in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Fighting Scots battled until the end but fell to their counterparts, 7-2.
In doubles action, the Blue Streaks started off hot, getting the first tally of the match defeating
Jeffrey Bodner and
Larson Benthem in the No. 2 slot (8-4). The pair for the No. 1's of
Ezekiel Hall and
Joshua Noel fought hard despite dropping the second overall point to John Carroll and eventual 3-0 sweep.
The Blue Streaks grew their lead to 4-0 after an initial singles win, but Hall and Bodner pulled through with victories in No. 1 (6-2, 2-6, 5-10) and No. 2 (6-2, 6-2) singles respectively, but it wasn't enough as John Carroll secured the win.
Next up for the Fighting Scots is a 2 p.m. match-up against the Berry Vikings on Thursday, March 7 still in Hilton Head.
