The Gordon College Men's Tennis team traveled down to Bristol, Rhode Island as they faced off against Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Roger Williams University (RWU) where the Hawks doubled up the Fighting Scots, 6-3.
In doubles, the No. 1 duo of
Ezekiel Hall and
Jeffrey Bodner took care of their counterpart 8-4, putting Gordon up 1-0 overall. RWU took the win on the third court, before a marathon of a gritty match on the No. 2 court just barely went in favor of the home team (8-7, 13-11) to give the Hawks a 2-1 advantage heading into singles.
RWU was able to claim the first three wins in singles action to seal the deal, going up 5-1 overall. Despite the match already decided, sophomore Bodner bested his opponent, 6-0, 6-0, followed by teammate Hall who grabbed the victory in No. 1 action (7-6, 6-3).
Next up for the Fighting Scots is Western New England University on Wednesday, April 17 at 3:30 p.m. at the Brighman Athletic Complex.
