The Gordon College Men's Tennis team traveled across town this afternoon as they faced Commonweatlh Coast Conference (CCC) opponent, Endicott College. In a down to the wire battled, both squads went back and forth before the home team edged out a victory, 5-4.
Beginning the afternoon in doubles action, the visitors took an early lead in the No. 3 slot, before the No. 2 duo of
Joshua Noel and
Larson Benthem doubled up their counterparts 8-4, evening out the score 1-1 overall. However, the Gulls secured the No. 1 doubles match, taking an early 2-1 lead going into singles.
In singles play, the Gulls widen the gap 4-1, before
Jeffrey Bodner took down his No. 2 rival by a score of 6-4, 6-3, followed by
Carleton Riester who bested the No. 4 slot (7-5, 6-3). In the No. 1 position,
Ezekiel Hall brought the Fighting Scots to an even slate with the Gulls as he won (6-1, 7-6), putting the overall score even at 4-all. However, the Gulls regained the lead and secured the win.
