Gordon College Softball hit the road today to take on the Bison of Nichols College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tilt. In the low scoring affair, Nichols came out with the sweep after winning game one by a score of 1-0 and game two, 3-2.

Game One

• With a runner on second, the Bison batter laced a double to right field to plate the game's first run in the home half of the first (1-0). That run was all the home team would need, as they held the blue and white to two hits for the remainder of the game, and eventually came out with the win. 
• Emily Graham went the distance in the circle, scattering just four hits throughout all six innings for one earned run. 

Game Two

• The Bison crossed the plate once in the bottom of the second before adding another run in the bottom of the fourth to lead 2-0. 
• Emily Peterson led off the top of the sixth with a single to left center and quickly came around to score thanks to an Isabella Rivera double to left center (2-1). Two batters later, Graham joined in on the hit parade with a single to left field, bringing home I. Rivera to knot it up at 2-2.
• Nichols answered right back with a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth to regain the narrow advantage (3-2). Gordon nearly locked up the score in the top of the seventh after another I. Rivera double, but Nichols threw out the tying run at the plate to secure the win. 

Beyond The Box Score

• Isabella Rivera recorded two doubles in the same game for the first time this season.
• The Scots return to action tomorrow for another CCC twinbill as they take the short trip to Beverly, Mass. to play the Endicott College Gulls with first pitch at 2:30 p.m.
