Opening up Conference of New England (CNE) play this afternoon, Gordon College Women's Tennis welcomed the Rams of Suffolk University to the Brigham Athletic Complex where the Fighting Scots came away with the 7-0 victory. With the win, Gordon improves to 2-0 on the season.
How It Happened
- Chloe Hanley and Gianna Hallam teamed up to defeat their counterparts, 6-1 to kick off doubles action. The Rams fought back with a win in No. 2 doubles before the Fighting Scots' Annette Kim and Serena Ross roared back to double up their opponents, 6-3 to secure the overall doubles win for the home team.
- Hanley and Makayla Otey secured wins in No. 4 and No. 3 singles, respectively, coming within one point of sealing the deal.
- Next up, sophomore Emma Tiemens answered the call and was victorious in No. 6 action with a 6-1, 6-2 win to clinch the match for the blue and white.
- Also recording wins in singles with the match already in hand were Ross, Annette Kim, and Amanda Kim en route to the 7-0 shutout.
The Fighting Scots hit the road once again as they travel out to Worcester, Mass. to battle Greyhounds of Assumption at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.
