Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lapp Laces Four In 4-1 W Over Salem State

Taking a midweek break from conference action, Gordon College Women's Soccer traveled into Salem to play the Salem State University Vikings on Alumni Field. Eowyn Lapp made a statement as the sophomore scored all four goals tonight in the 4-1 victory.

How It Happened
  • Just over 10 minutes after the opening whistle, senior Kristi DiRico took the ball down the right side before finding Lapp at the top of the box. The sophomore took a touch before lacing the ball into the top corner of the goal to take the 1-0 advantage.
  • Despite holding the blue and white to just one goal in the first, the Viking were unable to contain the Fighting Scots much more. Lapp came out of the break on fire where she made it a 2-0 game in the 59th minute thanks to a feed from Liana Hanley.
  • The Vikings cut the deficit in half with a goal of their own five minutes later, but once again the sophomore striker made her presence known, ripping in a shot from Rachel Mincone (3-1), before widening the gap to 4-1 with an unassisted goal less than two minutes later to secure the non-conference win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Kristi DiRico has now has recorded an assist in back-to-back games.
  • Eowyn Lapp now has a new game-high for goals with four. Lapp has also increased her total to eight on the young season (seven games).
  • Liana Hanley registered her first collegiate assist this evening.
  • Gordon returns home as well as continue league play when they host the Western New England Golden Bears at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
