Gordon College Women's Soccer welcomed the Regis College Pride to the Brigham Athletic Complex for their home-opener this afternoon. The Pride went on top early, but after halftime, Gordon regrouped to earn the 3-1 comeback victory.

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots took control early with a corner kick before the Pride answered back with one of their own. Gordon continued to put pressure on the Pride's goalie, ripping off five shots before the visitors were able to sneak a ball past the diving Scots' keeper to take the stunning 1-0 lead in the 35th minute.
• In the 50th minute, Ada Forbes caught Eowyn Lapp in stride who buried a through the Pride's keeper to knot the scoreboard up at 1-all. 
• Not letting their foot off the gas, the blue and white's Kristi DiRico curled in a perfectly placed corner kick to the head of Francie Leffler who knocked in the go ahead goal in the 56th minute of action.
• Shortly after, Gordon tacked on an insurance goal (61st minute) off of a DiRico cross to Forbes to make it a 3-1 game. With less than four minutes in regulation, Regis nearly made it a one goal game, but the shot hit off the post to secure the eventual victory for the Fighting Scots.

• Today's games marks Kristi DiRico's first two assist contest in her collegiate career.
• Ada Forbes notched her second career game recording both a goal and an assist today.
• Gordon returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 7 as they travel into Boston to battle the Emerson College Lions at 1 p.m.
