Gordon College Women's Basketball welcomed the Roger Williams Hawks this afternoon on Kanas Court for Conference of New England (CNE) play where the visitors came alive in the second to secure the 86-54 win.
Brynn Barnhard and
Ami Rivera led the way for the Fighting Scots as both seniors scored 12 points while grabbing three rebounds.
Naomi Nicholson dished out five assists and scored nine points, while
Sophie Peters snatched eight rebounds.
For the Hawks,
Chloe Richardson had 14 points,
Lilli Clark added 13 board and six boards, while
Elizabeth Dufrane chipped in 12.
How It Happened
- With the Hawks on top, 11-10, the blue and white scored eight straight points to take the 18-11 edge with 2:36 remaining in the first. A minute later, the visitors locked up the scoreboard at 18-all, but Rivera knocked in a layup to give the home team the 20-18 advantage after one.
- Rivera hit another two-pointer to kick off the second, but the Hawks took control, scoring 27 in the frame to regain the lead, 45-35 at the break.
- RWU held the upper hand in the second half, limiting the Scots' offense to come out of Wenham with the CNE win.
