How It Happened
- McGuinness got hot early converting a layup and hitting a three soon after. Brooks put on a strong performance on the glass with 11 first half rebounds. However, the Gulls outpaced the Scots in the half to build a 50-30 lead.
- The Scots halftime adjustments proved effective as they brought the game back within 10 points only five minutes into the second half (60-50). Treyton Tebbs, McGuinness, and Jarvis continued to lead the Scots back as they trailed by just two points with six minutes left (78-76). Under a minute to go, Jarvis sent a Gulls' layup off the backboard to retain possession. Bryce Smith took advantage of the extra possession as he made an acrobatic layup over a bigger defender. However, the Gulls pulled together to take a 89-84 win over the Scots.
