WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's basketball team suffered an 85-79 overtime loss to Salem State Tuesday evening at the Bennett Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Salem State seized an eight-point lead with 4:06 left to play in the first half, 29-21.
- Gordon finished the opening frame with six unanswered points in the final 1:33 of the half to trim the deficit to 34-33 at the break.
- The Vikings started the second stanza with a 9-2 stretch to reclaim an eight-point lead, 43-35.
- The Fighting Scots pulled even at 67-67 on a layup by Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) with two minutes remaining in regulation.
- After the visitors snagged a 71-69 edge with 22 seconds on the clock, the hosts knotted the contest at 71-71 as Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) tossed in a put-back bucket in the waning seconds of the second half.
- Salem State chalked up the final six points in overtime, including 4-of-6 from the charity stripe down the stretch, to secure an 85-79 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) paced the home team with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
- Ryan Brooks (Dudley, Mass.) tallied 15 points to go with nine boards and four assists.
- Isaac Jarvis (Concord, N.H.) finished with 14 points while Alex Daniel (Nolensville, Tenn.) added 12 points.
- Gordon concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 43.4% and was limited to 5-of-21 on three-point attempts.
- Salem State shot 37.6% from the floor and drained just 6-of-22 from beyond the arc.
- Michael Makiej paced the Vikings with 22 points off the bench while Jamel Walker and Omri Merryman both netted 16 points.
