WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College women's basketball team suffered a 93-68 setback against Coast Guard Saturday evening at the Bennett Center in the first contest of the 2025-26 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coast Guard outscored Gordon 24-14 in the first quarter.
- The visitors edged the home team 25-24 in second period scoring to hold a 49-38 advantage at the half.
- The Bears chalked up 20 points in the third while the Fighting Scots notched 16 points as Coast Guard owned a 69-54 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- Coast Guard scored 24 points in the final frame while limiting Gordon to 14 points en route to a season-opening win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Woynitu Ciccarello (East Haddam, Conn.) poured in a game-high 26 points to go with four rebounds and two steals.
- Leah McGarvey (Harrisburg, Pa.) finished with 17 points.
- Sophie Peters (Sidney, Mont.) posted a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 boards.
- Gordon shot 36.7% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
- Coast Guard concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 44.6% to go with 11-for-33 shooting from the perimeter.
- Dorothy Stotts netted 22 points to pace the Bears while Olivia Wright tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds.
