How It Happened
- Down by five in the first three minutes of action, the blue and white netted three straight buckets to go on top, 10-9 with 4:02 on the clock. Gordon regained the lead one more time after the Hawks scored a basket to take the lead, but the home team was able to take control, 21-12 after one quarter of play.
- A pair of shots from behind the arc midway through the second looked as thought it would spark the Scots' offense but RWU tallied the final nine points of the frame to bring the scoreboard to 44-25 in favor of the Hawks at the break.
- RWU came out of the half with two straight baskets, but the Scots battled back, going on a 10-0 scoring spree to cut the deficit to 13 (48-35) with 5:28 to go in the third. To cap off their most successful offensive quarter for Gordon, Ciccarello drained a jumper from downtown for the final points of the quarter (61-46).
- The home team put up 12 unanswered in the fourth and was able to keep the Scots out of reach to secure the conference win.Â
