SCHOLARS OF DISTINCTION | ACADEMIC SQUAD
As announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), four Gordon College Field Hockey student-athletes have been recognized as 2024 NFHCA DIII Scholars of Distinction while 11 have earned a place on the NFHCA National Academic Squad under first year head coach Alyssa Maryanopolis.
Hannah Amadon, Sarah Bourk, Rachel Korwan, and Gina Ouellette represent the Fighting Scots as Scholars of Distinction for their outstanding dedication in the class room this past fall. On the National Academic Squad is Hannah Amadon, Sarah Bourk, Emma Darling, Maddie Ellrod, Josie Gayer, Elle Gonyer, Rachel Korwan, Emma Kyes, Gina Ouellette, Paige Paul, and Allyson Stauffer who displayed exemplary efforts in their studies.
In order to be awarded the prestigious honor of NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, undergraduate student-athletes must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester. Amadon, Bourk, Korwan, and Ouellette are just four of 550 student-athletes across Division III to have received this award.
The 11 Fighting Scots who earned a spot on the NFHCA National Academic Squad are among 1880 undergraduate student-athletes who attained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester.
