Gordon College Women's Basketball hosted their first midweek game in over a month this evening as they squared off against the Suffolk University Rams where the Rams defeated the blue and white, 86-72.
For the Fighting Scots,
Woynitu Ciccarello scored a team-high 24 points, while
Ami Rivera matched her jersey number by putting up 23 points.Â

How It Happened
- The Scots found themselves down 9-0 early in the opening frame, but began to chip away for the remainder of the first. Leah McGarvey and Rivera were perfect from the charity stripe late to continue to break ground. With just over two seconds left, Rivera raced up the court before heaving up a three to drain the the shot at the buzzer to trail by just seven going into the second.
- In opposite fashion from the first, the second quarter saw fewer points but the Rams once again went on top by nine to lead 48-31Â at halftime.
- Despite back-to-back triples from Ciccarello, the visitors were able to comfortably pull away in the third.
- Gordon kicked off the fourth strong, outscoring the Rams, 10-1 to shrink their 22-point lead to 13 points at the 7:53 mark in the fourth. Shortly after, Suffolk regrouped to stretch their advantage and come out with the win.
