After their off day yesterday, the Gordon College Fighting Scots' Baseball team returned to NERP to play the Fitchburg State Falcons. A powerful offense, as well as a strong pitching performance secured the 9–8 win over the Falcons, giving Gordon their second straight win. 

How It Happened 

• After a scoreless first inning, Robert Dunkle laced a double up the middle to plate Tyler Wilson for the first run of the game in the top of the second. 
• Fitchburg matched Gordon's tally in the following inning before a Wilson 2-RBI single made 3-1. Joey Kazlauskas, then brought home Wilson to go on top, 4-1 going into the bottom half of the third. A three-run third by the Falcons evened out the score at 5-5. 
• In the top of the fifth inning, Wilson came across the plate thanks to a balk before Ben Marciano hit a single down the left line to score 2 runs. 
• Adding to their lead, Gordon tacked on two more in the seventh thanks to Jonathan McIntyre double followed by a CJ Demers single bringing the score to 9-5 in favor of the Scots.
• Fitchburg chipped away to make it tight in the final innings, but the blue and white was able to hold on for the one run victory.

Beyond The Box Score

• The Scots play a doubleheader against Russell Sage tomorrow beginning at 9:30 a.m. to cap off their spring break training trip. 
• Rookie Adam Gracie registered to his first collegiate hit today.
• Brett Moore earned his first win of the season after going 5.0 innings.
