Scots Drop Two On Day One Of Spring Games

The Gordon College Softball team hit the dirt for the first time today in Florida as they faced off against Pacific Lutheran and Thomas College. The Fighting Scots were topped 8-0 against Pacific Lutheran and were edged 5-4 in eight innings against Thomas.

Gordon vs. Pacific Lutheran
  • The Lutes got on the board right out of the gates, scoring four in the home half of the first and four in the second (8-0).
  • In the bottom of the third, the Scots got themselves out of a bases loaded jam after a two-out triple down the right field line to keep the Lutes off the board. Gordon silenced their counterparts once more, but the eight-run cushion allowed the Lutes to come out with the early win.
Gordon vs. Thomas
  • With the bases juiced in the bottom of the first and Lauren Parker up to bat, the sophomore took a ball to deep right right field, to bring home Emily Peterson for the first run of the 2025 season to go on top, 1-0.
  • Starting pitcher Emily Graham helped herself out on the bases as the junior came around to score off of a Thomas miscue to make it a 2-0 ball game after two.
  • Looking to add to their lead, Hailey Conde ripped a hard line drive to center field to bring around Mackenzie Murray and Ami Rivera (4-0).
  • In the top of the seventh, the Terriers rallied to knot up the scoreboard with a four-run inning. Then, in the eighth, Thomas was able to bring a run across the plate to claim the narrow win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Rookie Makayla Falco kicked off her collegiate career started off her career with a bang by registering three hits against Thomas.
  • The Scots are off tomorrow before returning to action on Monday, March 10 for a doubleheader against Carroll and Beloit.
