Golden Bears Steal Doubleheader

Gordon College Men's Baseball hosted the Western New England Golden Bears for a conference doubleheader Friday afternoon. The Golden Bears took a 15-1 win in game one. The Fighting Scots battled back in game two but came up short to lose 2-1. 

Game One
  • The Golden Bears got on the board first in inning one. 
  • Down 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth, CJ Demers doubled to lead off and shortly after came around to score thanks to a Tyler Wilson single. 
  • However, the Golden Bears kept rolling offensively to secure the eventual win.
Game Two
  • Rebounding from game one, Evan Clark slammed a homer to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning. 
  • Caleb Stuart showed up big on the mound striking out five Golden Bears and only allowing one run through six innings. 
  • The Golden Bears returned the favor holding the Scots to one run. They sneaked by the Scots on a sacrifice fly to get the edge in the pitchers duel.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Caleb Stuart had his best outing as a Fighting Scots, allowing one run and four hits through 6.0 innings of work. 
  • Evan Clark hit his first home run of the season. 
  • Next up for the Fighting Scots is Endicott on Tuesday, April 15.
