Gordon College Men's Tennis squared off against the Hawks from Roger Williams University this morning for a Conference of New England (CNE) Senior Day match-up at the Bass River Tennis Courts where the Hawks edged the Fighting Scots, 4-3.
How It Happened
- Despite a thrilling and hard fought victory on the No. 1 doubles court (7-6, 8-6), the Hawks were able to secure the overall doubles point with wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts.
- Jeffrey Bodner took down his counterpart in No. 1 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-3. In the battle of the No. 3 spot, senior Vittal Harith got the better of his opponent, 7-5, 6-1. Rounding off the wins for the Fighting Scots was fellow senior Carleton Riester who in a marathon duel against the Hawks' No. 6 competitor came out on top with scores of 1-6, 7-6, 11-9.
Next up for the blue and white is a CNE match on Tuesday, April 15 as they travel into Boston to play at 7 p.m. against the Suffolk University Rams.
