SILFEN RESULTS
Gordon College Men's Track & Field competed in both the Bridgewater State Invitational on Friday as well as the Silfen Invitational hosted by Conn. College yesterday and today. The Fighting Scots not only competed in poor conditions over the past two days, but this marks the second straight weekend the blue and white have had to deal with inclement weather.
Bridgewater Invite
- Henry Lonstein came in second in the 100m (11.10, +1.8m/s) and sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.45 (+2.1m/s).
- Daniel Chewning took the top spot in the 200m with his time of 21.91 (+2.1m/s), fifth in the 400m (50.50), and second in the long jump with a distance of 6.44m.Â
- In the 400m hurdles, Peter McGinn claimed third (58.95), followed by Henry Tait in fourth (59.06), and Daniel Erikson (59.63) in fifth.
- Erikson set a new school record in the 110m hurdles, a record in which he previously set in 2022. The senior recorded a time of 16.16 to come in fifth place.Â
- William Hughes secured second in the high jump (1.90m) which was just .01m off the school record set in 2011. Additionally, the rookie came in fourth in the long jump (6.12m).
- Noah Prince's toss of 35.68 earned the veteran fourth place.Â
Silfen Invite
- Rolen Sanderson ran the 800m in 1:57.66 to collect a 10th place finish against the best of the best in the elite group on Friday night.
- Evan Hand booked a top-10 finish as well but in the 1500m run with a time of 4:38.08.
- In the 110m hurdles, Hughes secured eighth place thanks to a time of 16.69.
- Rookie Jacob Dyer ran his way to a top-five finish after crossing the finish line at the 2:03.07 (fourth place) mark in the 800m run.
- Competing in the 400m hurdles for the second straight day, Tait booked a time of 59.49 for fifth place.
- Evan Ray registered a triple jump distance of 10.95m to take 10th place.
Gordon travels into Cambridge on Saturday, April 19 for MIT's Sean Collier Invitational.
