Gordon College Women's Lacrosse welcomed the Leopards of Wentworth to the Brigham Athletic Complex for their home finale. The Fighting Scots earned their first Conference of New England (CNE) victory this evening by a score of 13-9.
For the Scots,
Kaitlyn Mini and
Caroline Piorkowski each scored five goals, as Mini had two assists and Piorkowski added one.
Jocelyn Noyes recorded one goal and one assist, while
Marializ Lopez and
Brooke Roberti chipped in one tally each.Â

Shayleah Gunning-Lavoie scored three goals, while had one assist and
Grace Del Pilar contributed two goals.
How It Happened
- Piorkowski raced out of the opening draw and scored the first goal of the afternoon before the Leopards matched the scoreboard at 1-1. Adding to her tally in the frame, Piorkowski made it a 3-1 game, but the visitors were able to bring it to 3-2 late. However, Mini found the back of the net to double up Wentworth, 4-2, going into the second.
- Once again, Piorkowski kicked off the quarter with another goal (5-2). Wentworth answered with another but Lopez put her squad out in front by three goals at halftime (6-3).
- Wentworth cut the deficit to one-goal in the third, but the blue and white scored three straight capped off by Piorkowski's 100th career goal to bring the score to 9-5. Roberti continued with the theme of ending quarters doubling up the visitors as the junior made it 10-5 after the end of the third.
- The visitors tried to rally in the fourth with their highest goal total of the evening, but the Scots did not back down to earn the hard fought victory.Â
