Taking a break from conference action, Gordon College Softball took the short trip over to Salem to play the Vikings of Salem State. The Fighting Scots defeated the Vikings in game one by a score of 6-3 and fell to their hosts, 6-2, in game two.

Game One

• The Vikings got themselves on the scoreboard first with a run in the first inning. However, the Fighting Scots answered back in the top of the third thanks to an Emily Peterson lead-off single. After Peterson stole second, Ami Rivera laced a double to center field to tie the game up at 1-1. Two batters later, Emily Graham knocked in Rivera with a single to left to give Gordon the 2-1 advantage. Regaining the slight lead, Salem plated a pair in the bottom of the third (3-2).
• Gordon put three runs on the board in the top of the fourth thanks to three hits and a timely Viking infield error to flip the script once again (5-3). Madison Murray's sac fly doubled up the home team (6-3) to solidify the win.
• Graham went the distance, allowing six hits, three earned runs and striking out five in the circle.

Game Two

• Once again, Salem drew first blood, but this time the Vikings held on to the lead. The Vikings widened the gap to 5-0 after four innings of play.
• The Scots scored once in the fifth and one in the seventh but were unable to make the comeback as Salem won game two.

• Ami Rivera now extends her hit streak to six games.
• Emily Graham has now recorded five wins on the season.
