Hopkins, Petrenko Come Home As ACRA 2x National Champions!

FULL RESULTS

Gordon College Women's Rowing traveled down to Oak Ridge, Tennessee to race at the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA) National Championship Regatta. The Fighting Scots took two boats down to the Volunteer State and both boats earned a spot on the Grand Final today after roaring through their heats over the past two days.

By The Numbers
  • The 2x comprised of LilyAnna Hopkins and Sarah Petrenko came away with a gold medal to defeat Michigan State and Oregon with a time of 7:46.867. Hopkins and Petrenko breezed through their respective heats on both Friday and Saturday, setting them up for a highly competitive environment in the Grands today. The underclassmen duo solidified their lead in middle thousand before they opened up to break away in the final 500 for the crown.
  • Samantha Hansen and Phoebe Henry battled hard in the 2- event to place fourth against teams from Virginia, Nebraska, and Grand Valley who took the top three spots.
The Fighting Scots are now the first program in ACRA history to secure a three-peat in the women's 2x (Lucy Hopkins and Tiana Fox won the title in 2023 and 2024).
