My Experience at the Division III CSC Student Program
From June 8–10, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Division III College Sports Communicators (CSC) Student Program in Orlando, Florida. I was honored to be chosen as one of just sixteen participants across the country.
This program is designed to give student-athletes a real look into the world of sports information, through hands-on experiences, networking, and learning from professionals in the field. Each school or conference office can nominate up to two student-athletes, and once you're nominated, you submit an application. Final selections are made in March.
Going into the program, my biggest goals were to meet others who are passionate about sports, build connections, and learn from experienced professionals across all divisions.Â
The experience truly exceeded my expectations. From speed networking sessions to discussions on AI and the power of storytelling in sports, I walked away with so much new knowledge. One of the coolest parts was getting to hear from people in the industry — their stories, their advice, and how they got to where they are now.
Another highlight was connecting with the other students in the program. We all came from different places, but we shared similar goals and passions. We learned from each other, supported one another, and had a lot of fun along the way.
Would I recommend this experience to others? Absolutely! I gained so much, personally and professionally — and left feeling more motivated than ever to keep chasing a career in sports. I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to be part of the CSC Student Program, and I really hope I get the opportunity to attend again in the future!
