WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's soccer team blanked Lasell 2-0 Wednesday evening under the lights at the Brigham Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon grabbed an early 1-0 edge in 14th minute. Cortez Cardone (Villanova, Pa.) smashed in a half-volley to net his first goal of the year. Santiago Hernandez (Puebla, Mexico) picked up an assist on the opening strike.
- The Fighting Scots tacked on a goal in the 72nd minute to push their lead to 2-0. Nick Vavala (Newtown Square, Pa.) poked in a loose ball in front of the net to chalk up his first marker of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Cortez Cardone (Villanova, Pa.) fired a team-high three shots while Santiago Hernandez (Puebla, Mexico), Max Cardone (Villanova, Pa.), and Nathan Starzl (Gadsden, Ala.) all recorded two shot attempts.
- Senior netminder Isaiah Diaz (Lynn, Mass.) made his first start of the year before Landon Lonesky (Somerset, Ky.) made his collegiate debut in the second half.
- Gordon manufactured 18 shots while limiting Lasell to just one attempt on the night.
- The hosts held a narrow 3-2 edge in corner kicks earned.
