WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College field hockey team absorbed a narrow 1-0 loss to Regis Saturday afternoon in the first game of the season at the Brigham Athletic Complex

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The two teams battled to a scoreless stalemate through the opening two quarters.
• Regis got on the board 1:22 into the third period to snag a 1-0 edge. Anna Miele-Defelice found the back of the net for her second goal of the season while Hailey Ducharme and Mackenzie O'Shea both picked up assists.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Sarah Bourk (Barrington, R.I.) and Emma Kyes (Reading, Mass.) each registered one shot.
• Goalkeeper Allyson Stauffer (Lancaster, Pa.) recorded 11 saves in the game.
• Gordon managed a pair of shot attempts on the afternoon.
• Regis finished with 21 shots and a 13-0 advantage in shots on goal.
