Women’s Basketball Rolls Past Wentworth, 63-30

BOSTON, Mass.- Sophomore Sami Monighetti (Las Vegas, Nev.) tied a program-record with eight three-pointers to lead the Gordon College women's basketball team to a 63-30 win at Wentworth Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After opening the game with nine unanswered points, Gordon held a 16-9 advantage after one quarter of play.
  • Both teams mustered five points apiece in the second frame as the visitors owned a 24-14 lead at halftime.
  • The Fighting Scots poured in 25 points in the third period while limiting the Leopards to 11 points to stretch the margin to 46-25.
  • Gordon outscored Wentworth 17-5 in the fourth en route to its second conference victory of the year.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Sami Monighetti (Las Vegas, Nev.) tied a program-record as she splashed eight treys to finish with 24 points.
  • Leah McGarvey (Harrisburg, Pa.) netted 13 points.
  • Sophie Peters (Sidney, Mont.) notched 10 points, seven boards, and five assists.
  • Jayme Kiser (Braintree, Mass.) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go with five points off the bench.
  • Gordon shot 31.9% from the floor and 27.5% from three-point range.
  • Wentworth concluded the game with a field-goal percentage of 20.5% and connected on 3-of-10 from behind the arc.
  • Taylor Garabedian paced the Leopards with 16 rebounds and 13 points.
