WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought 68-63 decision to Curry Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon capped off the opening period with layups by Leah McGarvey (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Abby Chewning (Beverly, Mass.) to sport a nine-point advantage, 23-14.
- Curry utilized an 11-0 run to seize a 33-24 lead with 3:20 left to play in the second quarter.
- The Fighting Scots trimmed the deficit to 34-33 at the conclusion of the first half, chalking up the final seven points of the frame.
- The Colonels clung to a narrow 40-38 edge after a closely-contested third period that featured four lead-changes and three ties.
- Gordon grabbed a 61-60 advantage with 3:20 on the clock as Woynitu Ciccarello (East Haddam, Conn.) splashed a three-pointer.
- Curry reclaimed the lead with 1:14 to go in regulation, 64-61, with back-to-back buckets.
- The home side responded with a basket by Abby Chewning (Beverly, Mass.) to cut the margin to 64-63.
- The visitors scored four points down the stretch to secure their first league win of the season.

- Ella Palanza paced the Colonels with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Sophie Hilbrunner and Lauren Morse both scored 13 points.
