WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College women's basketball team suffered a 71-52 setback to Western New England Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Western New England opened the contest with 21 points in the first quarter while limiting Gordon to nine points.
- The Golden Bears owned a 15-10 edge in second-period scoring to sport a 36-19 advantage at halftime.
- Both squads notched 18 points and shot above 50% from the field in the third as the visitors controlled a 54-37 lead heading into the final frame.
- Western New England outscored the Fighting Scots 17-15 in the fourth quarter to earn its fourth-consecutive victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Woynitu Ciccarello (East Haddam, Conn.) poured in a team-high 19 points.
- Leah McGarvey (Harrisburg, Pa.) tallied 12 points while Isabella Rivera (Concord, N.H.) netted 11 points.
- Sophie Peters (Sidney, Mont.) finished with six points and eight rebounds.
- Gordon concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 34% and connected on 7-of-22 from behind the arc.
- Western New England shot 39.4% from the floor and 40% from three-point range.
- Hannah Blake and Sophie Hedge both posted double-doubles for the Golden Bears. Hedge registered 22 points and 11 rebounds while Blake chalked up 17 points and 10 boards.
