Men’s Basketball Drops Non-Conference Clash at Regis, 77-73

WESTON, Mass.- The Gordon College men's basketball team suffered a 77-73 setback at Regis Tuesday evening in the final non-conference contest of the regular season.
 
 
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • A 6-0 spurt helped Regis seize a 29-20 lead with 6:56 remaining in the first half.
  • Gordon trimmed the deficit to 38-33 just before the halftime horn.
  • The Fighting Scots pulled to within three, 46-43, on a bucket by Alex Daniel (Noblesville, Tenn.) with 15:05 left to play.
  • The visitors narrowed the gap to 67-66 as Chiko Kalu (Queens, N.Y.) banked in a reverse-layup with 2:59 to go in regulation.
  • After Regis snagged a four-point edge, Gordon responded with a trey by Alex Daniel (Noblesville, Tenn.) to cut the margin to 72-71 with one minute on the clock.
  • The Pride converted 5-of-6 from the charity stripe in the final 60 seconds to secure its fourth win in a row.
     
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Alex Daniel (Nolensville, Tenn.) netted a season-best 24 points to lead all scorers.
  • Ryan Brooks (Dudley, Mass.) posted 15 points, six rebounds and three assists.
  • Chiko Kalu (Queens, N.Y.) finished with a career-high 10 points and six boards.
  • Isaac Jarvis (Concord, N.H.) added 10 points while Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) chipped in with seven points.
  • Gordon shot 47.5% from the floor and 25% from three-point range.
  • Regis concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 44.4% and connected on 6-of-17 from beyond the arc.
  • Jamir Harvey paced the Pride with 19 points while Tyrone Chinn notched 14 points and Aamyr Sullivan registered 13 points.
