BRISTOL, R.I.- The Gordon College women's basketball team suffered a 75-62 setback at Roger Williams Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon seized an 8-2 lead midway through the first period on a layup by Woynitu Ciccarello (East Haddam, Conn.).
- The Fighting Scots trailed by just two points, 16-14, at the end of the opening frame as Leah McGarvey (Harrisburg, Pa.) tossed in a put-back layup at the buzzer.
- Roger Williams owned a 23-15 edge in second-quarter scoring to boast a 39-29 advantage at halftime.
- The visitors outscored the home side 17-16 in the third to trim the deficit to 55-46.
- The Hawks chalked up 20 points in the final period while the Fighting Scots tallied 16 points as Roger Williams captured a 13-point win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Leah McGarvey (Harrisburg, Pa.) netted a game-high 23 points to go with seven rebounds.
- Woynitu Ciccarello (East Haddam, Conn.) poured in 18 points and recorded four steals.
- Sophie Peters (Sidney, Mont.) and Isabella Rivera (Concord, N.H.) chipped in with six points each.
- Gordon posted a field-goal percentage of 34.4% to go with 4-of-22 shooting from three-point distance.
- Roger Williams shot 37.5% from the floor and 25% from beyond the arc.
- Sophia Coppola and Chelsea Graivier both paced the Hawks with 14 points while Chloe Richardson registered a double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 points.
