AUBURNDALE, Fla.- Despite a three-run ninth inning rally, the Gordon College baseball team narrowly fell to Albertus Magnus 12-11 Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon plated four runs in the home half of the second inning to claim a 4-0 lead.
- Albertus Magnus got on the board in the fourth, scoring twice to cut the deficit in half 4-2.
- The Fighting Scots tallied a run in the bottom of the fourth frame to extend their advantage to 5-2.
- The Falcons produced a pair of runs in the fifth inning to narrow the gap to 5-4.
- Albertus Magnus manufactured five runs on four hits in the top of the sixth to capture a 9-5 lead.
- Gordon generated three runs in the home half of the sixth inning to trim the margin to 9-8.
- The Falcons chalked up three runs in the eighth inning to push their advantage to 12-8.
- The Fighting Scots picked up three runs with no outs in the bottom of the ninth before Albertus Magnus was able to escape with a one-run victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Cael Smith (Junction City, Kan.) notched three base hits and drove in four RBIs.
- Gabe Fales (Middleton, Mass.) finished with two hits, two RBIs, and four runs scored.
- Aaron Ferreira (Fall River, Mass.) added three runs scored, one RBI, and a base knock.
- Tyler Wilson (Lynn, Mass.) chipped in with three runs scored and one hit.
- Kevin Whalen (Lynn, Mass.) threw five innings in his first start of the spring and registered one strikeout. Colby Galipeau (Charlotte, Vt.) made his first relief pitching appearance of the season before Michael Pelletier (Clinton, Conn.) and Casey Watson (Chester, N.H.) each made their third appearances out of the bullpen.
