WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College softball team prevailed 8-4 before dropping a 10-1 decision to the University of New England Friday afternoon.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon plated one run in the bottom of the first inning to snag a 1-0 lead.
- The University of New England responded with a run in the second to knot the contest at 1-1.
- The Nor'easters chalked up one run in the top of the fourth inning to seize a 2-1 edge.
- Gordon generated two runs in the bottom of the fifth to capture a 3-2 advantage.
- The home side rallied to score five runs in the sixth inning to claim an 8-4 lead.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Emily Hutchins (Kennebunkport, Maine) posted three hits, two runs, one RBI, and a stolen base.
- Peyton Heitzman (Champlin, Minn.) finished with three base knocks, one RBI, and one run scored.
- Caoimhe Wernsing (Brockton, Mass.) notched two hits and two runs scored.
- Emilie Adelmann (Upland, Calif.) pitched 5.2 innings and recorded one strikeout in her 10th start of the season. Emily Graham (Amesbury, Mass.) worked 1.1 innings of relief to pick up the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- University of New England produced a pair of runs in the top of the first inning to grab an early 2-0 lead.
- The visitors added a run in the second to widen the gap to 3-0.
- The Nor'easters tacked on a pair of runs in the third to extend the margin to 5-0.
- Gordon got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning, tallying one run to cut the deficit to 5-1.
- University of New England plated two runs in the top of the fifth inning to push its advantage to 7-1.
- The guests generated three runs in the sixth to take a 10-1 lead.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Emily Graham (Amesbury, Mass.) finished with one hit and one RBI.
- Isabella Rivera (Concord, N.H.) posted one hit, one run scored, and a stolen base.
- Kassie Snowman (Saint Albans, Maine) threw 1.1 innings in her fourth start of the spring. Emilie Adelmann (Upland, Calif.), Emily Graham (Amesbury, Mass.), and Katie Melendy (Easton, Mass.) all saw relief action in the pitcher's circle.
