REVERE, Mass.- The Gordon College softball team suffered back-to-back 5-1 losses to Suffolk Saturday afternoon.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Suffolk scored a run in the bottom of the second inning to seize a 1-0 lead.
- The Rams chalked up one run in the fourth to double their advantage to 2-0.
- Gordon got on the board in the top of the sixth, trimming the deficit to 2-1.
- Suffolk answered with three runs in the home half of the inning to widen the gap to 5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Suffolk snagged an early 1-0 edge with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
- The Rams added a run in the third to push their lead to 2-0.
- Gordon tallied one run in the top of the fifth inning to narrow the gap to 2-1.
- Suffolk responded with one run in the home half of the fifth to reclaim a two-run advantage, 3-1.
- The Rams tacked on a pair of runs in the sixth inning to stretch the margin to 5-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Emilie Adelmann (Upland, Calif.) landed two hits and drove in one RBI.
- Samantha Perkins (Tewksbury, Mass.) collected a pair of base knocks and scored one run.
- Caoimhe Wernsing (Brockton, Mass.) added one hit in the game to notch her 100th career base hit.
- Emilie Adelmann (Upland, Calif.) pitched 5.2 innings in her team-leading 11th start in the circle. Katie Melendy (Easton, Mass.) also made her seventh relief appearance of the year.
