PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Gordon College men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-8 decision at Johnson & Wales Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Johnson & Wales owned a 4-2 edge after the opening quarter.
- Both squads netted three goals in the second frame as the home side boasted a 7-5 lead at the half.
- The Fighting Scots and Wildcats chalked up two goals apiece in the third as Gordon trailed 9-7 heading into the final 15 minutes of action.
- Johnson & Wales narrowly outscored Gordon 2-1 in the fourth period to capture its third-straight win in the all-time series.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Kennedy Opie (Natick, Mass.) tallied four goals in the game.
- Jackson Wright (Cazenovia, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals.
- Wyatt Lake (Basking Ridge, N.J.) dished out two assists.
- Ryan Long (North Reading, Mass.) posted one goal and one assist.
- CJ Veader (Bristol, R.I.) registered five saves between the pipes.
- Gordon fired 37 shots while Johnson & Wales concluded the contest with 31 shot attempts.
